Spotlights
Fire

Single family fires are the most
common disaster to which the Oktibbeha County Red Cross Chapter
responds. Assistance is designed to help the individual or
family for the first 3 to 5 days after the disaster. A youngster
shown here clutches a teddy bear and a t-shirt provided by the
chapter as his mom completes the request for assistance. For
more information, call the chapter office at
662-323-4621.
Aquatics Classes

through Mississippi State University’s Sanderson Center (contact

each month at the Chapter Office in Starkville
(501 Highway 12 West, Suite 160). Classes begin at 5 p.m. on
Tuesday and Thursday (CPR on Tuesday night, First Aid on

Red Cross Loves the
Sturgis Rally

The Sturgis South Motorcycle
Rally shared its wealth with
local charities, including the
Oktibbeha County Red Cross. In
December the chapter was
presented with a check for
$5,000 from Rally organizers
Scott Smith and Donny Hanson.
Smith, who also serves as mayor
of the town of
Sturgis, said “We’re glad to be
able to do this. From the start
of the Rally, we’ve planned for
it to be a way to help the
community.”
